Betting Tip: Germany vs Scotland – Expect a Tight Match!

Posted on June 12, 2024June 13, 2024 by TonyW4rriorz

TonyW4rriorz Prediction for Euro 2024 Opener: Part of My £50 Euro Challenge.

As we gear up for the opening match of the UEFA European Championship, all eyes are on Germany facing off against Scotland. Looking back at past tournaments, it’s clear that these opening games often tend to be cautious affairs, with fewer than four goals scored in all of the last ten matches. That’s worth noting for anyone considering a bet.

  • Euro 1992: Sweden vs. France (1-1)

Scotland Is likely to Play Ultra Defensive

Scotland is likely to come into this game with a defensive mindset, aiming to frustrate the German attack and pounce on any chances that come their way. This means we could be in for a tightly contested game, with Scotland looking to stifle Germany’s offense and perhaps catch them on the break or from a set-piece situation.

For those interested in betting, some bookmakers are offering odds of 23/20 for a low-scoring affair (Less than 2.5 Goals) which could be a steal considering the circumstances. If you can find a decent price, playing it a little more cautiously and going for less than 3.5 Goals could be the safer bet. I However as part of my £50 euros Challenge went for under 2.5 Goals at a price of 2.21 with cloudbet. Should my £10 bet come in, my returns will be £22.10 including the stake.

Germany Will Have the Pressure of Being Hosts

Adding to the mix is the fact that Germany will be playing on home soil. While this might give them a boost in terms of support, it also brings its own pressures. The expectation to perform in front of their home crowd could lead to a more cautious approach from the German team, especially early on in the tournament.

So, with history suggesting a tendency for fewer goals in opening matches, and considering the defensive approach Scotland is likely to take, a bet on a low-scoring game could be a smart move. Keep an eye out for those odds and consider taking advantage of this insight for a potentially profitable outcome.
